Here's an simple recipe for something that tastes very much like Triple Sec
For 0,5 l:
- Skins of two or three tangerines, dried for a few days until they are hard and can be broken in pieces
- 0,25 l of strong neutral spirit (I had a bit of 77% of a sugar wash vodka)
- macerate the skins in a jar of vodka for just TWO days
- dilute with 0,25 l with sugar syrup (0,86kg + 0,5 l water, keep under boiling temp for 30 minutes with some citric acid for 1 liter sugar syrup)
- total abv 38%
Unlike real Triple Sec, which is colorless because it is distilled over tangerine skins, this liqueur has an orange color.
Incredible what a rich flavor after just two days of macerating some skins!
Also makes a very nice tangerine vodka when you don't add sugar syrup.
