Jacketed reflux tower??

I fabricated a piece of copper sheet into a little removable funnel to sit directly beneath the reflux jacket to direct the reflux toward the center of the tower, instead of running down the side, as suggested on another post. The funnel has an opening of 7/8" for the reflux to drop through and vapor to come to the top. Is that sufficient? And, should I put some copper mesh above the funnel, as well as below? Thanks!
