Question about copper tea pots

Post by sed8ted »

Hello all,

I was helping my parents clean out a section in my father workshop and noticed that he had 2 copper tea pots. (which he use to use). I was thinking of taking the on in the pictures, (hope they show), and adapt it to make brandy, or distill my apple wine that I have made, and if it works out, possibly distill a few bottles of my mead when it's done, any thoughts or suggestions?

I noticed there is a lining in the kettle, should I try and strip it out with sand paper to expose the copper?

Thanks in advance, also I will be looking into getting a 2 gallon stainless steel milk container to make a simple pot still out of, I will post pictures of what I get, provided it's still in good shape.

Thanks
