Ever had on of those days...

Post by ArkyJ »

When you just don't give a shit about anything. Mope around the house. Look at the rain outside. Be glad to be inside and
say F**k it to a load of oat mash awaiting to be run. It was ready last week. Guess It will be ready next week also.
SIGH!

It's rainin up here too, Jackie. Cold and gloomy. Fixin to head to the smokehouse to finish my parrot and rack a sweetfeed wash and start another one. I'd run it but my stills down right now... :( Anyway sorry you feel like shit. It's a little early for a drink but.....

Rainy days have a tendency to make one feel depressed. I live in an area that does not have as much rain as people think but a lot of days are just overcast and so it is hard to get motivated. I agree run the wash and you will feel better, add some music that you like while your doing it! :D

On the other hand, some of my best whiskey was that wash i forgot about for a few months and got all funky on me! I ran it and it was magic(well, almost..). Then I reused the backset to make a couple more generations and they also turned out great. I started a thread here on "infected backset whiskey" or some sort of title.

Maybe the stillin' gods are watching out for you and making you wait until the wash will be special! Hey, I'm an optimist... ;)

Yup and Slow & Steady talked about a fruit wash that he forgot for 19 or 20 years and described the resulting brandy as "sublime".

Then my aged rum beer turned out just incredible....... I'm a believer in age'd washes now.
