Welcome to the forum, my only claim to Texas is my father met my mother while stationed their before being shipped to England during WWII. My mother is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin and taught elementary school before moving to Washington State.

Re: Hello from Texas
Thanks all for the warm welcome. I actually have a SMALL make shift still out of a pressure cooker. I did make my first batch and it turned out great. Seemed to be a good beginner recipe. But I will Get a pic up. Like I said tho its nuttin to look at but worked well. Still waiting for my new pot to come in so I can make a new one. I watched a couple vids on how to make one from a certain site I wont name till I get familiar with the rules here.
The recipe I got off the forums but their forums are dead. Few people check in here and there. The condenser was real simple. The 3/8 tube which the gas comes out in goes through a piece of 3/4 that the cooling water flows through, but I see some cool designs in here that may help alot with the larger pot coming in.
Again thanks for the welcome and I look forward to learning from and active forum

Re: Hello from Texas
We all start somewhere Arealcwby1 and a stovetop pot-still is a great way to get a handle on the hobby.
Just be sure you have removed that rubber gasket in the lid that 90% of pressure cookers have, seal it up good with a little flour paste...
Your product will taste even better and IMO, you'll be around a lot longer...
Nice to have ya here...

Re: Hello from Texas
And hello form another East Texan. I'm from around Jasper, TX more or less. Hang in there. A lot to learn, but you can do it.
Larry, I just got back from an 8 day trip counting travel time to Amarillo. I am here to inform you and any others that might care to know that I did not lose a darn thing there! For three days the wind blew, and blew, and blew, one day with gusts up to 60+ mph. I was in a travel trailer/camper too. It was so bad we had to let one of the slides in.
