Ingredients are a bit of a problem for me.
I live in China so I don't get the same ingredients as most of you guys.
Right now I am looking for molasses for rum. I can't find it (apart from American imported stuff that costs a fortune!)
I am looking for a local substitute and here's what I have found:
Both go by the name of brown sugar and look like the have a high molasses content.
If I do a pure sugar wash with one of these, how might it turn out?
Has anybody done a pure dark brown sugar wash?
After several generations, would the molasses build up in the dunder and give me that rummy flavour?
Cheers,
Zonko
