The copper packing i used in my column (stainless steal) oxidized dark black along with some copper tubing i removed the mesh and scrubbed the column there is a bit of residue left over. My question was is if i can just scrub everything clean and continue on as normal or should i ditch the copper tubing i used and start anew?

You can soak it in vinegar as dunder suggests and it will make it shiny again, however the oxidation of the copper is not a bad thing. If it were me I would just rinse it with some hot water. My still is all copper and the only cleaning it ever gets is a sponge wipe down and rinse w/hot water. Just think about your spirit run, it starts out with your heads containing methanol and acetone which are great for cleaning and sterlizing.
