Watermelon Wash "Need more flavor"

Post by Haze »

Okay first and foremost I am amateur “New to making a good wash!” but I have read extensively and have made some pretty good batches. :)
So I am trying to perfect my watermelon wash “Which has been pretty good so far”
so your inputs would be greatly appreciate. I am looking for more flavor

My Wash

A nice size seedless watermelon “The sweeter the better” to make a 1-1/2 gallon liquid watermelon pulp
14 pounds of sugar
5 gallons of water
1 pack of 48 Hr turbo Yeast
1-blender

Oh! a big cooking pot!

* So I cut up watermelon into the cubes, toss it into the blender until it is liquid and then toss it into a pot until I make up a 1-1/2 gallon of watermelon pulp
* I heat up the 1-1/2 gallon of watermelon pulp to a simmer for 30 minutes and add about 7-pounds of the sugar stirring constantly.
* Then I dump the heated 1-1/2 gallon of watermelon mixture into my fermentator
* Add another ½ gallon of water to the watermelon mix. Then stir in the rest of the sugar until it dissolves.
* Once all the sugar is all dissolved then I stirred in the other 4-1/2 gallons of water
* I cover the fermentator loosely so bugs don’t get in and let it sit over night.

The next morning I throw the 48 hr. Turbo Yeast in, Seal it! Put the air locker on and about 1-2 hours later it’s bubbling like crazy!
6-7 days later it’s ready to run in my Pot still ... It taste great but I know it could be better.

So I would appreciate anybody input on how I can make it better :D
