parrots beak

Just ordered a parrots beak. What's the best way to run it. Should I continue to collect in pint jars or since I will now have a constant read on what's coming out, could I collect in jugs instead?

Parrot and using a hydrometer is good feedback. But, as goose used to say...never seen one with taste buds. You still have to depend on and develop your own senses for cuts. The parrot with hydrometer can let you know what proof you are running at. But, you are still going to be mostly depending upon your own senses for cuts. And I would suggest that until you fully develop them...to keep collecting in smaller units and take notice about what's occurring with the parrot/hydro along the way.

If you run the same recipe over and over, using same parameters, same still, etc..eventually, you might notice that you commonly make your first cut in a certain range. This can then help you to know when to start tasting and smelling to know when to switch over to smaller/larger jars. So, I wouldn't change how you are collecting yet. I would keep collecting as you are...and use the parrot to add information about what's going on. Take it a step at a time.
