Bought an 8 gallon mile hi still on it's way now should be here 14 days or so, I reckon next weekend is about time to start thinking about getting a couple of washes of the go. I understand I need to do a 50/50 vinegar/water distillation first and a sacrificial booze run before I can make a drinking spirit.

I was going to do a sugar wash, I have phosphoric acid for hydroponic plant would this be suitable for setting the ph I have ph testing kit and then use yeast nutrients.

Also where the hell do I get cracked corn in the UK? It's an animal feed isn't it?

I want to make a very clean vodka and also something resembling an oldskool yankie moonshine, I've been told by a friend I need to make rum as well but I was going to cheat for now and use the aussie gold rum essence which seems to get rave reviews on here.

At some point next year I want to get a copper pot still head from hillbilly to fit on my still for proper rum making.

Any other suggestions? I got 4 brewing bins empty and waiting.
