Re: Tito's Vodka
Wondering if this head ache thing for some and not others is a personal physiological thing. I (almost) never get a head ache no matter what I drink, except with some red wines, then I'm a mess. Oh and that one time I had my neighbor's shine; it was like being hit right between the eyes, within the first 5 minutes of drinking it. But that's different, it was poison

I don't think it's psychological . I think you would have to have a pre conceived notion for it to be psychological.
I think it does matter on quantity and genetics.

Apart from quantity and genetics, maybe also a "getting used to". Before I made my own, I could drink more store shite than I can now.

I know I'm more particular than I used to be, but did recently have 3 highball glasses of Monopolowa Vodka in an evening with no ill effects other than poor navigational skills. BD said it might be physiological, indicating that differences in physical makeup might cause this- that could be. If any of y'all are in Houston, stop on by and pick up most of a bottle of really good tasting vodka, on the house. It'll be here.

Blaaa psy. I said physiological, not psychological..
To many letters l that look the same.
Sorry I misunderstood. I am a horrible speller and letters all kind of smush together. Numbers on the other hand are my strong suit.
I love numbers.

Arphaxad,
Is that due to psychological or physiological reasons?

Re: Tito's Vodka
Went to buy another bottle of Tito's and the store owner suggested I try Deep Eddy Vodka, also from TX...
Just finished the first glass...this stuff is great, beats Tito's in my book and will be my new go to vodka. and its cheaper! $17.99 for 750mL. Don't let the price fool you...

Used to drink Tito's all the time, never had too much of a problem $18 for 750ml. Drink Blue Water now, very nice.

Re: Tito's Vodka
I tried Tito's and thought it was pretty good, we did a side by side taste test with DryFly and the DryFly was chosen by everyone as a better taste, haven't tried Deep Eddy! On another note I only taste test when people bring it over as the only commercial alcohol I now buy is either when on vacation and can't bring my own or if I am visiting a micro distillery and want to support the small guy especially if they are nice when touring and sharing what they do.

Re: Tito's Vodka
I used to sell Vodka for a living. I've tried many many vodkas.
At home, I'm more of a Scotch drinker...
Tito's always had a coppery taste to me. Smooth, but oddly coppery. From industry sources...Tito's doesn't distill their product to 96%. They supposedly keep cutting in mash, that's why it has so much flavor. Of course, there are always a lot of rumors going on about Tito's...
Deep Eddy is to peppery for me. The price is to high for it.
Cinco is great, however it's kind of out of Ohio. The neutral grain alcohol is shipped to San Antonio where the owner runs it again through his still and makes cuts. Also, you'll notice that Cinco doesn't have a "distilled XX amount of times statement". The owner of Cinco actually told me that, so I'd say it's a reliable source.
Dripping Springs Vodka is okay. Very similar to Tito's, but less coppery.

Took it home, smelled ok, had a glass on the rocks, tasted good, had 2 more and went to bed. Next morning, had a nail between the eyes headache and suffered all morning. Did the eyeball test the next evening and it stung a little, but not too bad. I'm usually pretty good at spotting heads, but this one fooled me. Too bad, really wanted to like it with a small legal distiller putting it out.
Same thing happened to me. Could not believe it because of all of the hype. I only had one 3oz pour and had a banging headache.
