Possible new sugar

So I was digging around in my pantry and found 4 bags of stale marshmellows and thought this might be a suffient source for sugar So i thought maybe dissovle marshmellows in hot water? Any info welcome; dont mind being shot down either could be a bad idea haha

egg whites/gelatin/sugar dont sound like a good mix to me.

I just googled it and they said that modern marshmallows are made from a range of simple ingredients, but most typically include corn syrup, water and gelatin.

Seems like a lot more work than it's worth to get the simple sugar needed but an experiment is worth a 1000 opinions!

Didnt realize the possible egg whites, ok probably not my smartest idea but if there is ever a shortage of plain old sugar you guys will know what ill be using
