chances of a explosion with a pot still

Post by BrMoore134 »

I have a link to a pot still im mimicking but I saw it doesn't have a vent and wanted to ask if there was a chance for this still to explode. I figured without a vent it wld get too much pressure and explode. I realize that the worm helps let pressure out but what are the chances of this going off in front of me? Here's the link of the still it has images http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopi ... 50&t=26500

As long as you dont plug the worm you are fine. The only chance of that would be if you were distilling on the grain and it puked real bad. Meaning, if the mash boils up into the still and pushes solids into your worm causing a restriction.
