Just an intro.

Post by steelheader26 »

This is such a great site! I have been distilling now for just over a year on an alembic home built pot still and have made some pretty good spirit so far. I have mostly learned that every new mash and every spirit run I learn something new (great hobby) Anyway, I was searching youtube for some new ideas on my next still and came across a member of this site who invited me to register. Great help he was Dan the "Rum runner" and yeah he was rite about the endless amount of wisdom this site has to offer! CHEERS EH! signed STEELHEADER26

Welcome!
LIke you say, learning something new is a great part of the hobby. Hopefully without screwing anything up too bad....
What are you planning? Do you have Picks of that homebuilt monster?
What do you make? Rum? Whiskey?
Everything I do or say may or may not have really happened... or it may or may not be all bull shit!
Turning money into steam and likker 10 gallons at a time!

Hey Dan thanx again, I have 3 successful batches of whiskey under my belt! I say successful because the others were only good for starting the bar-b-q. Mashes I found also were a real challenge (mold issues). But i seem to have figured out a system that seems to work for THIS still. I am now fermenting a molasses batch as we speak (10gal) and so far I have got a very good ferment happening. (lalvin EC1118). Trying to figure out how to post pics on here rite now!
