Is This a Food Safe Container???
I was at Lowes this morning and ran across a sale on the following gray plastic containers. http://www.rubbermaidcommercialproducts ... -p475.html
On the bottom it reads " NSF Food #2 White Yellow Gray."
Does this mean that it's safe to ferment in?
Thanks.

I have used them. They are fine. I would strongly recommend the white ones. It seems they are more inert. The gray ones are also supposed to be 'safer', plastisizer wise, and less likely to leach out things like colors, etc. However, I think the white are even better than the gray ones. The price listed is about 3x higher than what I have seen. Looks like that must be highly inflated retail, company direct pricing or something.

Yeah, that's a factory direct price, and I was only using it as an example.
My Lowe's store has them on sale right now for $15 / 20 gal. & $22 / 32 gal.
I think, at that price, I might buy a couple of each and use the plastic food liners in the 20 gal. just to be safe. Plus that would keep me from having to clean the fermenter every time.

Thanks for the input.

Re: Is This a Food Safe Container???
Doing a little research and I found a good source for liners ....
Here is a good one for a 20 gallon can. http://www.bestpolybag.com/can-liner-20 ... 02095.html
These are food grade plastic liners. Plus, I wouldn't have to worry about buying 2 or 3 at a time. I would have 250 !!!

I use the Brute Containers, White ones in 10, 20, 30 gal.
They work great for fermenting!
Have had no taste issues with off flavors and they withstand high temps. like after you boil water and pour it into the grain.
