Howdy!

Post by knucklhed »

Been wandering the halls here for a month or so, decided to join recently and figured that I should prolly introduce myself...

I'm new to craft distilling, but a veteran when it comes to consuming distilled products

I've been adding yeast to sugar for 17+ years making beer, wine & cider and I think I'm ready to produce some spirits.

Thinkin that a Bok is the way to go from much of what I've seen around here, kinda diggin the condenser build that Pikluk did here: http://homedistiller.org/forum/viewtopi ... 46&t=13598

But I've acquired a bunch of scrap 2.5" copper that I plan on using, anyone have a template for making the cuts at the correct angles on a 2.5" pipe? So far it's eluded me!

15.5 gal keg for a boiler and 40" column are the other components, Any recommendations or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Sorry I's taken so long to get back here - just finished a big project that delayed my still build...

Yeah that's the one - I think I've got the solution to making the correct diameter plates, just trace around the outside dia of the pipe I'm using, but what about making sure I get the plates exactly opposite?

Thanks for the help!

Welcome knucklehed, resize the template so it wrps around your copper, then cut on the lines with hack saw or dremel. Have fun!

Thanks Bentstick!

Quick question...
I have my boka build plotted out, but there are a few things that are "different" about my build that I haven't seen covered anywhere and I would like the opinion of the experienced folks around here, what is the appropriate place to start that thread? Was kinda thinking that "My first..." might be the place, but after reading through there it looked like it was more about pics of first builds, runs, mashes etc...

Thanks!
