I have used pop in three diff washes and like the man said they all fermented dry. Most recently I used 6liters of Mt Dew to dissolve the sugar in a birdwatchers and the rest of the recipie sayed almost same, I left out the lemon juice on that cuz the pop had acid in it already, so convinent
As for flavor I don't know because I ran it thru my boka cuz ive got plans on some gin!
In my book sugar is sugar and if I get some for cheap or free it gonna be booze when I'm done!
A few years back, I made pancakes for breakfast, and the "Hungry Jack" syrup tasted carbonated. I gave it a shake and it started foaming, very VERY slowly. It was almost full and I made up a gallon (jugs) worth. It fermented out to 8 or 9% and tasted pretty good like it was so I didnt cook it out.
There is so much sugar in coke/pepsi/base, all of them, that I dont imagine it does not need much in the way of preservatives in it, plus there is a big turnaround of stock from so many end users, , , People have posted about fermenting out various concoctions ie 2 gallons of strawberry jam etc. and came up with some pretty good spirits. I got from the local scrap yard 2 two gallon 'corny' kegs, one was full of strawberry soft drink base. I was gonna try a batch of it. They gave them both to me, but I had to take the full one full. Does anyone realize how much of a MESS less than a quart of this stuff makes in the back of a car?? After cleanup, I disposed of ALL remaining syrup!! The fitting for co2 is/was vented, it tipped over and dribbled out for 7 miles, what a mess. Still have the 2 kegs tho, I was gonna make a thumper out of one, , , but never did, my car still smells like strawberrys. -hey-
That's a lucky find, those small corny kegs sell for a shit load. People on craigslist seem to get 65$/keg for the 3 gal version, compared to $25-30 for a 5 gallon.
Guys I just got 15L of Coca Cola syrup (post mix). We have just changed over to Pepsi at work and can't sell it.
Is it worth fermenting ? ]
my best estimations bring the total sugar content to 10Kgs in the 15L (total weight is 20Kg's) 27g per serve 384 serves in total
