Silver solder question

I have read of people using solder to join stainless to copper , tonight i tried to tin a bit of stainless with solder and the only bit of action was a big blob rolling off and into my shoe :-/ ouch

I am pretty confident that if it were possible i would have succeeded ,

So i then try silver solder , no problem ,

My question is ,,,, am i ok with silver solder for the stainless to copper joints ??
