Our upper pasture has an apple tree that produces a bountiful harvest each year of an unknown variety of the ugliest apples on the planet. It's a very old tree and oddly enough they taste pretty good although they are pretty darn hard. The deer love 'em but this year I'm going to try to harvest as many as possible and run them through my 3/4 horsepower meat grinder using a very large coarse plate after quartering or halving them first.
I have two 16 gallon fermenters and would like to know what would be a proper amount to put in each fermenter. I'm shootin' for about an 8% ABV wash with (hopefully) some great flavor.
Gonna run the wash through my pot still and see what comes out.
Thanks guys, FMH.
