Bowtech also makes a nice bow. I also have a Diamond (aka Bowtech) "rock". It was my first was spoiled to learn on it. Very light, fast , quiet and accurate. I just picked this Matthews up about a year ago and frickin love it.Marshwalker wrote:Nice!!! Mathews makes a good bow!! Re: Share your toys!
Baught my boy a Mathews misson craze earlier this year. Looks like a toy but damn... adjusts from 19-30 inch draw, 40-70 lbs, smooth, solid backstop, and damn fast. At his 40lb I can easily draw it sitting flat on tha ground (turkey?). Of course he shoots light arrows but its about as fast as my ol 70lb pse solo cam slinging logs.... that bow is awesome and with the adjustments could last him a lifetime...

What do you look for in a compound bow? I have several recurves but have never drawn one with pulleys...

Re: Share your toys!
for me it's all feel... it's easy for some to get hung up on speed because that is mostly what is advertised..but how it feels in my hand and how it feels through the draw cycle and at full draw tells the tale for me... all brands out there put out a good product these days. they don't have much of a choice because the technology has advanced so much..if they were to put crap on the shelf, they would be out of business!! I shot about 10-15 different bows prior to purchasing what I have (Mathews, Hoyt, Bowtech, and Bear were the brands)... I noticed that for the most part, you will give up one thing to gain another as far as quietness, smoothness and speed...so make sure it feels good.. I knew with a little practice, the bow I bought would have been a tac driver because it felt good in my hands...and it is!!Frosteecat wrote:What do you look for in a compound bow? As you can see by my avatar I love duck hunting, its the only good thing about winter. I thought about getting a bow but I dont do much deer hunting and you would be hard pressed to find somebody the could hit a teal swoopin in with an arrow.

Re: Share your toys!
I was doing some pic re-sizing tonight and found these.
First are my audio pride and joy. They both turned 50 this year.
Next is the first incarnation of my 7.25" gauge ride on tram. The seating area is not the same as pictured, was changed to allow a larger battery. But its about 5 years old now, and has only needed fuses replaced, due to hooking too many carrages to it, and too many drunk adults pileing on, something the original design (freelance) never accouted for. The drivetrain has been problem free.
But I could only find videos of it how it looks now, with my kids faces. Sorry, not putting kids here. I'll take some pics this weekend, it's at my buddy's house (on his track) and put them here if anyone is interested.

Re: Share your toys!
Well, you sort of need more than a garden to run it. Its hard to get the rail bends to go around a suburban property. It can be done, but its like a train set on a kitchen table. You sit in it, not on it.

Those were the days. I used to be able to swing a cat, with that cat holding another cat.
Now I can't swing a spanner without hitting something.
That was my old workshop when I ran my business with 3 guys running around with me. Those days are gone, and tax time is easier.

Re: Share your toys!
Just moved these items down from the neighbors on the 4th. Along with the Jukebox and pool table he gave us an antique neon Olympia beer sign. After the fireworks around the lake my wife and I went into the rec room and played the jukebox and danced abit. Not sure if it was the jukebox or the apple pie we were drinking while watching the fireworks. The jukebox came with all the CD's and there is some great stilling music (99 CD's).
