Hello all, I thought I should introduce myself...

Post by billf »

Just a quick hello - I have been lurking here for a few months, reading everything I can find (and that is not always an easy task it seems) ;)

I debated long and hard about building first, but decided to just buy instead - at least for my first still.

I ordered a Brewhaus PSII last week and am eagerly awaiting it's arrival so I can get started with this new hobby. I am hoping to awaken some deep-seeded ancient knowledge that I might have given that I was born in Middle KY, just South of Bardstown, and grew up in Middle TN, just West of JD & George Dickel.... I am not sure it will work that way - so I will continue to read all the great info that is here on the site in the meantime :D

Welcome to HD! Have you read the "CM still improvement/operation" thread? It's The first thread located in "column distillation and design". Very good info. On your setup. I also run the same rig. Have fun!

I read through that thread a few times, and was happy for all the info BEFORE I ordered. Based on the thread I had Rick at Brewhaus make a few additions/changes. I had a 1" NPT fitting added to the boiler so I can easily add a heater element, and I had the condenser extended from the standard length to 24". I plan to run it in more of a pot still mode initially, I think, since my interests lie more toward whisky & rum... but I am still reading and learning more every day I wait for it's arrival :)
