As a new member i JUST WANTED TO SAY HI. After lurking for a few days, I knew I had to join. I want to learn to distill my own spirits and this seems to be the place to learn all about it. I will soon be asking questions but still have some reading to do. Cant wait to get started!

Welcome to the forum, couple hints about reading here:
1. Start at the new distillers reading lounge.
2. At the bottom of each thread there is an icon called "bookmark topic", This will save the thread to your user control panel. If you bookmark threads of interest it is easy to go back and find them using the "user control panel" icon at the top of the page.
3. Some threads get long and overwhelmed with questions or people redirecting the thread (we have all been guilty of it). Start a folder with subfolders on various topics of interest and cut and paste info wanted to store in a word document to the various folders.
4. Use the various search functions to look up information.
5. When you decide to get started break it down into manageable parts so you are not overwhelmed.

Managing the information here is probably one of the toughest parts of belonging to the forum. Good Luck!

Mostly looking to make whiskey/bourbon. Still trying to decide whether to start with a pot still or go on to a reflux and add flavor. Will probably end up doing both at some time.
