Nor Cal new guy on the block
Just wanted to show my face and say hello to all you guys and gals here. After about 3 years of brewing beer, I have just purchased my first pot/reflux still. Ive dabbled a little here and there with some small homemade stills that I just threw together. Now I'm ready to really put in some time an hope to gain some great knowledge and experience with all you guys. I'll b the buggy one asking all the questions!! As of now, whiskey is what I like!! So hello!!

I really don't know to much about the difference in stills yet, but I went with this
hillbillystills 8_Gallon_Copper_Moonshine_Still.
Any thoughts on this??

It's a good rig for rum and whiskey and I assume that's what your going for. It will do you well.

Welcome paradactal,
I got my still from there too, and it does very nicely for bourbon, rye, and rum.
What kind of setup do you have for mashing?

Welcome, nice choice of rig. Just spent a couple weeks in Northern California- real pretty and cooler than Texas this time of year.
