From the hills of NC

Post by willsrn2000 »

Greetings fellow shiners.
I have two reasons for this post, one to introduce myself and two to let you all know about a scam that is going on.
One, I recently got into distilling as a way to make fuel for possible SHTF scenario I see on the horizon, plus good homemade shine is quite tasty and cheap, better than the store bought stuff. Im not much of a drinking man myself but its nice to keep around for medicinal purposes. I was a Blue Flame operator during my years in the mideast and I grew up in a family of haulers and distillers. Had an uncle who hauled in a 1940 Ford pickup that had a Cadillac engine if that gives an idea, boy I sure miss those days and those people.
Second I saw a discussion here about ; http://bootleggerstills.com/
Well Im here to tell you that they are a 100% criminal enterprise. You will be lucky if they send you anything at all.
They have been operating around the Denver area for about a year and just haven't scammed enough people yet to get a rep but as soon as they start getting noticed, they will disappear and restart as some other scam operation. They are also all over eBay under different seller names. I have reported them for internet fraud to the Denver PD, FBI and FTC. So be warned, if you want to make a $279.95 donation to Ms Shirley Sparke or Jack or whoever they are, they will be happy to take it. That will be the last you hear from them.
Im looking forward to making y'alls acquaintance and helping out with this topic.

Welcome, that's too bad you got ripped. One of the big reasons the forums recommend doing research before you buy or build, so you get what you pay for & build to what you want to get out of your rig.

Yep, wish I had found this site first, thanks for the tip on dealing with local folks.
Follow up on the Denver moonshinestills.com site;
I guess I must have pushed the right buttons.
This a.m. I got an email from Jack with the usual excuse about having to move and the phones were down.
"We had to move or shop and the phones and internet was down. We are back up and running Phone and internet are back up. You order will be shipped today!
Sorry for any problems we have caused,
Thank You,
Jack"

No reply about my question of "If the phones were down, why did you hang up everytime I called and asked about my still?

Whether he sends a refund or not, it doesn't matter because I learned that even though I used a debit card, my bank can recall it because it is a Visa debit card.

Brewhaus http://www.brewhaus.com/

All these sites I would called trusted sites for still shopping, there are others but I don't know them off hand. These are the only sites I've order supplies from. Never had a problem with any of them.

Yes that's them and +1 Durace11 all good outfits, just thought Milehi might be one that willgrn2000 could actually visit if it's close enough.
