Figured I should join already

Post by GingerTop »

Been lurking on these threads for close to a year now, and for some reason just never thought about joining. I mean, almost any question I had could be answered in the search box, as the suggestion is given to most noobs who post something that's been asked a million times. Anyway, can't go into too much detail about myself and where I live and such (career field I'm going into doesn't approve of ANY illegal activities, as ridiculous and harmless as hobby distilling might be, so I don't want to give away my identity too much on a public forum), but I can tell you that I'm from the American southwest and I am a college student. So I'll probably have to give up this fun hobby until it becomes legal when I do get into that career field, but that's a few years down the road and I want to have as much fun with it as I can before I have to go back strictly to the slightly less interesting beer/cider/wine making. I have made about 6 batches of UJSSM, and I have a half gallon of apricot brandy I have aging on toasted apple and cherry wood now.... That's not counting all the rot-gut I made with turbo yeast, sugar, and water out of a 1.5 gallon aluminum pressure cooker pot still, 1/4 inch copper coil and rubber seals before I found this site (thanks guys, y'all saved me from myself). I now distill out of a 7.5 gallon SS and copper pot still made out of a SS pot, 30 inch copper column, and 3/8ths copper worm. I seal with flour paste now. I built the still with this forum's guidance and examples from this site. Anyway, that's my introduction! Hope to continue to learn so much on this site and thank you guys for all the info.
