in mind all apple juice was room temp.. which i tested to be 72 degrees just before pitching the yeast. a scaled down two gallon mix that fermented out in 5 days netted me one full pint and a 1/4....by the way.. the juice cost me $4.48 US at the walmart in town, dp was a buck, and paks of lalvin 1118 cost .89 where i get them.... hope you guys have the same luck i had.. the end result was quite nice

apple juice easy recipe finally!!
hello fellas..well, here is the recipe i used for a apple juice recipe as i could not afford apples nor cider in my area this year. i only did 2 gallons to start, but i am quite sure the 5 gallon mix im going to share will work well for those who would like to try it. Start with 5 gallons of 100% apple juice, try to not get any with more vitamin c than needs to be.. the juice i used claimed it had 100% value or whatever.. to this i pulled off 2 glassfulls.. one to mix 5 tsp of yeast nutrient (DP). then i warmed it in the microwave to get it a bit warm.. the second glassfull i used for starting my yeast in.. i used 2 paks of lalvin EC-1118. and a pinch of DP, and 2 tbsp of sugar..just to get it kicking good.. i also added a about 4 cups of sugar to the juice which i put in a carboy. after adding the DP glassful and making sure all was mixed as good as i could, i added the yeast which was started quite nicely. keep
