dilluting problem?
i dilluted a batch of 93% bw in a gallon glass jar down to 40%.both the neutral and the alcohol was room temp.i funnel off into a half gallon and the last was split into 2 smaller fifths.we took the last fifth and put in in the freezer for later.i went to the freezer for one more with the mrs and it was like a frozen slushie so i let it warm up and checked the abv and it was 28.5 so i checked the first bottle and it was 45%.my question is does water settle down, should i slowly keep it stirred with say a wooden spoon while i funnel? i have surched and advanced surch but most problems are with cloudy results.this was nice and clear, sorry for too long of a ?

Re: dilluting problem?
you must have one cold freezer .as 40% alcohol freezes at -26.95c/-16.5f.. first was the right temperature to take a SG reading?
if the reading was taking after freezing then some water could have separated? (freeze distilled)
this is alcohol/water separate to a extent when frozen.
