Wow! "Bazinga"!

Post by TimJ »

I have 2 - 5gal batches of UJSSM working. This is my first attempt ever. I started both last Saturday evening, so this is part way through day 3. This morning while having my morning coffee before work, I just had to take a peek. It is bubbling fast and furious, and smells wonderful. I had to take a little taste. Having no idea what to expect, I took a teaspoon and got a little "clear" liquid off the top. WOW! It is still very sweet, and far from ready to run, but it sure tastes wonderful. Very, very sweet, a little "cornie" and I was surprised at the "alchohol taste and smell" already.

mmmmmmmmmm Just can't wait till it's ready to rock and roll!

UGH! lol.....Ok, this is the morning of day 5. I hadn't touched it since day 3. This morning I tasted the wash and the sugar is GONE! Hungry little yeasties seem to have eaten it all. It is almost as sour as biting into a lemon. If I understand what I have read, that means she is almost ready to run. Bad news is my still isn't ready. While doing a cleaning run last night, I found a small leak in a seam. Tonight after work, i will go to the shop and hit it with some solder. Then another cleaning run tonight. Tomorrow night, I am going to run some older store bought alchohol through her as a sacroficial run. Then Saturday.......the fun will begin! :)
