Sugar Wash Problem (Needing Help)

Post by WERAT »

First let me say I am a newby in training, and experiment.
I made my first sugar wash using Turbo Pure 48 without doing all of the research (I should have done)until it was to late.
I used the directions right off of the package. 16Lbs of sugar, mixed in boiling distilled water, let it cool to 85 degrees then added my Turbo Pure 48 to the mix. Mixed well then filled my carboy and topped with distilled water to 5 gallons. I checked the SG after it had cooled to room temp and it was 1.170. (I think this was way to high) Just following directions from the package. The wash started fermenting like crazy and boiled for 3 days, before slowing. The next 10 days it bubbled anywhere from 2-3 bubbles per second to only 1 per second. It is now down to 1 bubble every 2-5 seconds. I checked the SG and it is now 1.04. It still looks like watered down milk and not even close to being clear. What should I do with this wash? I do not want to through it out as it stil smells fine. Any way to revive it or is the wash to high in ABV?
I did read a possible solution was to devide and delute then repitch. Is this an option? I do not have any yeast and would have to get more. Any help would be appreciated.
I will be trying a tried and true tested wash next time.
Yes, I have learned my lesson on being greedy (before somebody says it) and wanting more ABV). You never know for sure unless you try. I DID AND I THINK I HAVE FAILED.

I am just trying to save this wash as I am in the learning process. (I am out of likker and dont wont to start from scratch.)
