Hello from Mo.

Post by Parker36 »

Hello. Im in southeast missouri, and have been brewing beer for years. I consider myself a somewhat advanced brewer and have decided to try my hand at distilling. I learned a lot about brewing from forums and other brewers, but some of the best information i gained came form brewing books (Palmer, Zainesheff, etc.). So my question is, other than this forum what are some of the best or must have books that i should get? Thanks!

Hey Parker,
None that I know of that have the sheer amount of info that's available in the forum here ...you'll do well to use the google search button above , and of course participate in some of the discussions ...I'm sure your beer brewing experience will help a lot.

Welcome, and +1 on the info here. Having said that it is sometimes easier with books. The Compleat Distiller is one of the better books, also for beginners I would suggest Making fine Spirits, Alaska bootlegger is a fun read but for knowledge gained isn't the best but has some info. A heavy read more like a University text book but everything you need to know about still design can be found in Henry Kister's book Distillation Design.
