Hello all-
My first attempt to make a boka still is almost complete and excitement is beginning to build. This weekend I plan to do a cleaning run and then follow that with some cheap wine to run through and get a feel for temps ECt. I also plan to start a wash this weekend in the hope of the first distilling run next weekend. I have concern over what recipe to use. I am between UJSM ans bird watchers. The bird looks less complicated (this will be my first time) but the Tennessee country boy in me says that if I am not using corn I am not really making shine....I also have the common sense person in me saying if I run reflux like I plan to I will strip all the corn flavor out and why waste my corn and time doing something more complex when bird watchers will be fine. Please give me some advice and quieten my inner voices. Thank you all for your help I hope to post a few pictures this weekend once she's all done. I followed the build wiki very closely and things have come together well. Looking to do 5 gallon per batch in a 2" column that will be 54" high I also have a Lieburg for the times I want to run as a pot still.
