If you ever wondered. . . .

Post by zaph1 »

12 hours of bubble per second, captured into a bag. A simple way of keeping the CO² smell out of the air. During the primary ferment, it would fill the bag about every hour. Thinking about connecting a hose and running it outside through a vent.

I have an unused 8x16 clay lined chimney that I intend to use for passive ventilation of my fermenting room . A moderate change in the ductwork and positive ventilation via an inline duct fan will pull CO from the propane burner out the same chimney . Trial runs have provided positive results . I should add that this is part of a double chimney structure . Heat from the wood heating stove helps establish draft in the unused flue for aggressive passive ventilation .

Most house plants love it . Especially if they are also exposed to grow lights .

I use a 2L bottle as an airlock, I run the airlock outlet to my homemade Co2 reactor and then to my 55 gallon Amazon River planted aquarium. I have to constantly trim back the plant growth. I use a needle valve to bleed off the excess Co2 so the fish can still breath. It's not as adjustable as my buddies topshelf Co2 rig, but he sure is jealous of the $500 I saved.
