Ok so I am finally going to get some Bin-Run wheat to malt.
I called the Gain Elevator co. And asked if they had seed corn in for spring and she said yes, but all seed corn is treated with Anti Fungal and insecticides!
She said it as if she knew exactly what I wanted it for.
How does anyone ever malt corn?? It seems that the only way would be to now a farmer...
And even then most spray with some very nasty crap....
Does the steeping remove these chemicals?
Does anyone know of any data or further info in this area?
