distilling right now

Many like to post about a first successful ferment (or first all grain mash), or first still built/bought or first good run of the still. Tell us about all of these great times here.
Pics are VERY welcome, we drool over pretty copper 8)

lemme guess, running a pot still with a thermometer???
forget the temp, don't even look at it.
keep heating until you get flow then dial back the heat to give you a good broken stream, kinda half drops half trickle.
After you finish start at square one in the new distillers lounge and read read read. then come and ask questions.
you'll get'er

I can tell when its going to start dripping by, use my hand feel the column heat up. The heat has to get all the way up the copper to the liebig then turn on the water and shell start producing.. My 3'' column take a lot of heat to get warm enough .

Well its my first drinkable run. I ran some cheap whine threw it. It came out pretty good. I ran it slow after I got the temp right. Likker was good and I guess I got a decent yield
