)First time round I hadn't insulated the column and got an 85% product, which I had to clean with carbon. Turned out to result in so nice spirits. Btw I took 500 ml as the foreshots+heads)
Second time I had insulated the column and packaged the SS-scrubbers a bit tighter(added 2 extra scrubbers). This time I got 93-94 % out of it
. This time I took 200 ml as foreshots+heads. Now there is still a faint smell present in the alcohol. Nothing to be worried about (will absolutely not be noticed when diluted to drinking strength
) but I was amazed that there was still some other smell besides the alcohol in it. If I must describe it then I would say it smelled a sweetish.Do other people also notice this?
