Re: Oily look
Now that the ice has melted in my drink the oil look is gone. Is the water in the ice reacting with the alcohol because I have never seen regular booze of any kind do that but then again I never looked that close at it nether.

Did you go far into tails?
You can pick up some oils there.

Re: Oily look
I didn't think so it was clear as glass still when I shut it down and still tasted good. But it is possible I'm still a little green at this. It does mix good with sprite though

Re: Oily look
the only cure for that is to drink it up, do it again and again. you're on your way now.
I'm going to try a renewable grain based lifestyle. Beer and whiskey count don't they?

Re: Oily look
The oils from tails can form a oily haze or scum at lower temperatures or lower alcohol concentrations. Blame the ice.

Re: Oily look
I think you're talking about the swirling effect the booze does around the ice and glass?? Not a slick on top??
If so it's normal and commercial liquor does indeed do it too.

Re: Oily look
I think that's it because after the ice melted the swirl quit and it 90 proof its good stuff I saw the swirl of oil and got worried for a second, thought my shine had gone south or something or didn't pay enough attention while I was running it but it's all good
