Going bigger

I am currently running a five gallon pot still with a flat lid and half inch line. I am looking into a 6 gallon pot but instead of a flat lid I am going to fab a mixing bowl for a lid. Should I continue to run the half inch or should go with 3/8 and I am currently running a meat thermometer for a temporary gage line and thermo are sealed in with food grade siliconon the new still would a thermo that sits on top work so I don't have to drill another hole in the lid. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

A keg would work much better. There's plenty of info here on how to convert them.

Kegs not available to me ilooked into that I was thinking of getting 2 one for stilland one for thimerosal it would have been bad ass but I will settle for the pot it will still kick associated what's your thoughts on a large mason jar for thumper or should I go bigger for that.

I deleted my previous post. I apologize for its mean spiritedness. However, there are a few things in your posts here that would indicate that you may need to do a little more reading and research. One of the primary intentions of this forum is to promote safety.

The use of silicone and other synthetic products is not condoned and the use of glass thumpers is also not recommended. Thermometers on pot stills are not necessary. There's plenty of information here about how to do cuts without the use of a thermometer. 3/8" tubing is the smallest diameter recommended, but you'd do better to keep the 1/2" you are already using.

Edit: The thumper should be about 1/3rd to 1/2 the size of your boiler. Too small and it stands a chance of overfilling during a run. Too large and it will take a long time to heat up. There's a big thread about thumpers here on HD - read it.
