Bacon Infused Bourbon
.33 cup of rendered bacon fat 3 cups of bourbon
Cook a pound of bacon and reserve the rendered fat. Add .33 cup of hot fat to a jar and fill with bourbon. Seal and allow to stand until it reaches room temperature. Place the jar in the freezer for 24 hours. The fat will solidify but the bourbon will remain in a liquid state. Open the jar and pour off the bourbon, straining through a coffee filter or cheesecloth to remove any loose fat particles

Holy crap. That recipe, with the bacon bourbon and maple syrup sounds good. When I grew up my mother used bacon grease on everything, even had a salad dressing with it. Check out Maker's Mark website... They have a bacon-bourbon-chocolate chip cookie recipe that is BOMB. Everyone at my Christmas work party loved them! They went faster than the caterer's deserts. True story!

Couple of tips... cook the bacon normally, and then dice it. Use Ghirardelli chips. Way better than the rest. And I added an extra little bit of Bourbon.humbledore wrote:Been looking for a good gift for my father who has a sweet tooth. I may try to do that cookie recipe tomorrow, thanks!
