Bacon Infused Bourbon
.33 cup of rendered bacon fat 3 cups of bourbon
Cook a pound of bacon and reserve the rendered fat. Add .33 cup of hot fat to a jar and fill with bourbon. Seal and allow to stand until it reaches room temperature. Place the jar in the freezer for 24 hours. The fat will solidify but the bourbon will remain in a liquid state. Open the jar and pour off the bourbon, straining through a coffee filter or cheesecloth to remove any loose fat particles

Re: BACON FLAVORED BOURBON!!!
What timing, we very seldom have bacon at our house but with Christmas we are cooking some up so I will save the fat and give this a try with one of my bottles with a slight change. I will infuse it using my Ultrasonic cleaner. Solidifying the fat seems an easier way to extract the bulk rather than just filtering. I wonder what that does to the calorie count

Re: BACON FLAVORED BOURBON!!!
i do something like that. i buy sidepork and heavy smoke with maple on my smoker. the maple is pretty good in that bourbon with the bacon flavor. im sure useing hick or fruit woods would be good to. side pork is just bacon that hasnt been messed with, you can get it from most lockers sliced and wrapped.
today marks the dawn of a new error.

Re: BACON FLAVORED BOURBON!!!
Thought I would report back my findings. This on the surface did not sound like something that would taste great but I like to experiment with new things. First off everyone's tastes are a bit different, I followed the instructions and experimented with a good bottle of SF, after taking the fat off I filtered it through coffee filters as for appearance it never came back clear but left a bit of a foggy appearance to the bottle. You can taste the bacon flavor but for me it did not do anything to the booze to make it better. At first I thought I ruined a good bottle of whiskey but that happens from time to time when you experiment.

I know a beer brewer that makes bacon beer . It's real tasty. But he will not divulge his method. Here's a link to some " Bacon Syrup" This might be useful for something.http://www.torani.com/products/bacon-syrup" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
