I will absolutely walk behind a man if there are snakes around! Snakes and myself are not friends at all!Truckinbutch wrote:Any of us would be happy to have Corene1 for a girlfriend if we weren't already attached (speaking for myself only on the attached part ) . If i read her right she will walk behind no man and it is going to be an exceptional feller that can step fast enough to walk beside her . Highest praise I can give her .
You guys are making me blush. Thanks to all of you for making my night.
Yep Googe I am thinking a 4 plate column. I have been reading I am thinking it would be OK to build the internals with copper and the main tube from stainless with a dephlegmator on top.
I still haven't done enough research to know for sure if it needs it. I still want to make whiskey and not neutrals. This is just like stepping into the pool again! One toe at a time.

+1 TB. People gain respect around here by how they conduct themselves. And, I don't mean being polite and playing mamby-pamby with egos. There is also a level of respect garnered from bringing special talents to the forum. We have plumbers, electricians, welders, brewers, "story tellers", and many other special skills from which to draw knowledge. Corene1 is a talented fabricator and welder and she is duly respected for sharing those skills - as any other person IS who is willing to do so.Truckinbutch wrote:I didn't see anyone taking offense at what's been posted .has been a rather fun thread .
Wish more women would participate here, but they seem to sign up and disappear after a few posts. Maybe some aren't as tolerant of the male behavior we sometimes demonstrate here. Corene1 not only tolerates it, she seems to delight in the entertainment value.

In theory there's no difference between theory and practice. But in practice there is.

What you guys have to remember is I work In a fab and repair shop. I deal with guys all day long. Oil field hands, farmers, maintenance guys, bikers, You name it. So I guess I am used to how guys act around guys. It really doesn't bother me, I have fun with it. Some of those guys have a really hard time taking advice from a woman though, and you haven't heard anything till you get bunch of women together! Probably would make you guys blush!
On another note I really do appreciate all the advice I have gotten from everyone and am glad to help where I can. I think these long threads have a ton of information for anyone reading them and wanting to learn. We should never stop trying to learn.
I also wish more women would join in, I believe they would have a really good time also. If any women are reading this jump in and say HI!

Getting back to the topic of women on the forum I remember the name of the gal that was great but hasn't been around since 2011 was Cocktail girl, reading her post reminds me a lot of you Corene1 very independent.

Totally agree Corene, more woman here would be good, just to get a different perspective on questions asked here, men tend to answer the same way, law of nature I guess. We have some female welders at work and one is one of the best welders there, she gets alot of support which surprised me in such a big company. Wasn't there one called dawn to bushman?.
Here's to alcohol, the cause of, and solution to, all life's problems.

Re: Women distillers???
That's funny. I worked in a female dominated workplace for several years. For the most part they were professional, well educated women - racey talkin' bunch they were. I guess after a while, they got used to me being around and really didn't hold much back. It's really kind of funny how we sometimes put on an act around the opposite sex and how rare it is that we let that guard down. When it does happen is when we gain some insight into the other's psyche. God, I wish I had known at 17 what I know now.corene1 wrote:...and you haven't heard anything till you get bunch of women together! Probably would make you guys blush!

Re: Women distillers???
on topic, I have made the blueberry version of the SPD - and about 40 women have tried it and ask for seconds ... that is the key for some more participation by some more women ... those that do not love the whiskey or worry about vodka and techimonology ... just some people looking for something yummy to drink/mix ... and they can build that with a pot still ...
