Re-mashing the same mash
I need a little advise, when reusing the same mash over and over how much corn and yeast do i replace when i start my next batch?
Re: Re-mashing the same mash
I pull off the top layer of corn which has usually turned kinda white, amounts to about 2 cups usually. Replace with same amount fresh. You should already have a yeast bed in the bottom. They're still alive, assuming you leave a little bit of liquid in the bottom and don't add your water when it's to hot and kill them, they're just waiting patiently for more sugar. Shouldn't have to add any.
