White oak or red

Can anyone tell if this is white oak? smells like it

+1 We cut red for firewood & it dont look like red.

If those are the leaves white oak hat rounded lobes red are pointy
Split off a small piece and blow on the end grain. Red you can blow bubbles in water just like a straw. White you can not

I didnt even see the leaves,the leaves look like red oak.

Leaves are not from the split wood.. I will make some pieces up and toast them and try it in a small jar. Thanks all I was thinking it was white but needed some more opinions. I'll be sure to try to blow thru a chip too.

I learned this trick aboiut 30 years ago when I was becoming a cabinet maker

No air bubbles! So toasted charred and floatin..
Thru 2 5in pieces in a quart if white. See how it is in a couple months. Thanks everyone
