Today is the 99 anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli by the Australian and New Zealand expeditionary forces (Anzac day) and so this is the day we remember the service and sacrifice of our defence personal

If you are a Metallica fan and have yet to see Through the Never you need to check it out. Currently on Netflix.
I've seen them 14 times but never like this. Even the backstory was tolerable.

For Metallica fans, the Howard stern interview (I know....I know....) is fantastic, they play several songs live in studio including "One" and tell you so of the back story and drama from the years....great interview if you've got 90 minutes to burn and like Stern's informal interview style.

So right Pappy!
You know that I actually like to listen to some jazz every now and then? Yes I do. Love to listen to:
http://www.radioswissjazz.ch/en" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;" rel="nofollow
since they have a very good selection. Only problem is ... every 15 or 20 minutes somebody starts to talk German, which is funny.

Re: whats your music
So I'll admit I have not read through all 35 pages willingly, but I did search the site and see no references to TRAMPLED BY TURTLES....
They don't like the name but they're often referred to as "New Grass".
Think death metal speeds with acoustics, banjos, fiddle, prolly a dulcimer in there...
They ROCK!!!
Great 'stillin tunes in my book ANYDAY!!!

Re: whats your music
You heard "fade to bluegrass"? It's a bluegrass tribute to Metallica, not the best bluegrass band but it's a fun listen. It's fun at a party to see people figure out why that song sounded familiar.

In theory there's no difference between theory and practice. But in practice there is.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I damned sure shed a tear, and laughed, got shivers down my back, and a couple more tears. Ya see, I was raised by my grandparents, and my grandaddy was the best man I ever knew. BUT...., here's the truly weird part, I grew up EXACTLY where this song takes place. The odds are 50-50 that my youth was spent on the same street where the song says his grandpa lived in Clearwater SC. There are only 2 streets there that run from US 1 to Hwy 421. I know EVERY landmark mentioned in this song. I went to the high school, played ball in the park, ate quite a few burgers at the L&M cafe, and have several relatives buried in the same cemetery.justsomeguy wrote: But Rebel Son strikes a chord in me with there music. Here is one of my favorites by them. You may just shed a tear.
