FNG from the Buckeye State
Hello Everyone!
Long time reader of the forum but finally pulled the trigger and registered. Should have done it a long time ago to say the least. Getting ready to fire the "still up an try my luck with sweetfeed.....Have my fingers crossed that it is successful "wife keeps telling me I will go blind" but hey you only live once why not live a little! My current set up while I am waiting on my grain bill is as follows:
5 Gallon pot still "Alembics Still"
Special order qty 300lbs of Sweetfeed
150lbs corn
150lbs oats
20lbs molasses
Bought 1lb bag of distillers yeast
4oz bottle of yeast nutrient
x2 6.5gal Big Mouth Bubbler
Any seasoned vets have any advice suggestions?

Welcome to HD Erickpanther, 5 gallon pot still but you've ordered enough grain to make an episode of moonshiners why so much grain ?
Sometimes I wonder why is that Frisbee getting bigger......and then it hits me.
Re: FNG from the Buckeye State
Eric, With all due respect if you have made no major typing errors I would cancel the order until you have read and understand everything in my 3 links in my signature. It will save you lots of money and wasted efforts.

Welcome!!!
Your enthusiasm is good ..I noticed you said you are a long time forum reader ..
Now you need to become a long time Parent Site reader ..
Also, you bought way to much 'stuff'..1-50lb. bag to start with was all you needed ..
The horse always goes Before the cart ..Read, read, then read more ..
Its gonna take a long time to run all that grain through that still ..
May want to consider a 15gal. pot ..
Good Luck &Be Safe.

Reply to All,
I understand that the grain bill is WAY to much.....I had to order that much because of special order from that mill. It was min of 500 but luckily he brought it down to the 300. at 18 bucks a bag I can't really complain and the deer will be happy if need be along with the kids watching them. I have a home for 1 bag and that leaves me with the #200.
