It is from his work with the nukes. Splitting atoms/split personality/split location, all the same.

No, just killin' time waiting for the summer heat so T-Pee will be motivated to finally drill a hole in his keg for that heating element.

T_pee has been too busy watching Beavis and Butthead, Flying Circus and trying to figure out where Jimbos lives, to go out to the shop and get some work done.

How the devil did you know what I did for a career?? Seriously. :shifty:

Actually, I pulled the trigger on some e-goodies last night after my post with the pros an' cons. My whole way of doing things in general has always revolved around versatility and I realized after making that post I could have my cake and eat it too by simply adding an element setup in a boiler that is made from a badass copper water heater liner and already has a 1" threaded bung in place. A nice lady THAT LIVES NEAR ME even offered up a tap if I need to clean up the threads. It leaves it so that I could easily run it on propane again if I wanted to run a mash that hadn't cleared enough or sumpthin.

I ordered an analog 470k pot, 40 amp SSR, 5500 watt ULWD element and a digital volt/amp readout. The rest of the stuff like connectors, switches and indicator lights I can source locally if I don't already have them. A flowmeter for the RC is probably in the works too. I like the idea of being able to quantify the flow rate for the logbook.

So, thanks for the 8 pages of research you guys have done for me in this thread and all I had to do was bitch about being hot and sweaty!

Propane is great!
Heats all the liquor I make
Fuels my truck down the interstate
Ah ha Propane is great!
Bakes my wife's chocolate cake
Heats water for the shower
Even if it lasts an hour!
And it warms my home
So I don't need to roam
To warm my ass
I just take down a glass
And drink one to the gas
Cause Propane is great
Cooks all the whiskey I make.

The hardest item to add to a bottle of shine is patience!
I am still kicking.

And just where the hell have YOU been in all this?

For some odd reason I picture Flatwoods reciting his poem while dancing around outside the stillin' shack in a driving rain. Why is that? :eh:

Woods is a Poet.

But propane sucks. Long live electrons.

Electrons are great.
No fumes that make a head ache.
Theyre cheaper by far
Than that gas from afar
And heat without waste
Like flames that bake the whole place
Should you spring a leak
There's no flame to make still go bang
So electrons Ill keep
To make likker to help me sleep

There once was a stiller from Iceland
Whose run didn't go as he'd planned
He tried it with gas
And blew up his ass
Electric he now thought was just grand

His name may not be Adam
But for certain he splits the atom.
His split personality
Inclines him to go by Shirley
As he bounces from Louisiana
To Texas and Santa Ana

Holy hell!!! I go to work for 4 hours and this thread jumps into poetry, song and dance?

T_pee, you coughed up the information about your former employment on another thread a while back. Maybe the radiation effected your memory?

All of that aluminum laced high abv alcohol I have been consuming have killed off all of the weak brain cells. The ones I have left are the strong determined ones. Battle of the fittest!

You gave up your employment in Bushman's thread on fishin and shrimpin.

The transformation begins.

Here's the 240v 5500w element, pot, readout and 40 amp SSR.
IMG_20140615_091443_967.jpg
Here's the back of the readout and the toroidal ring. I got no instructions in English so some help with input/output and toroid ring placement would be a big help:
