Hey, first time contributing on this forum!
Something I havent read a lot about here is automatic fores/heads removal.
The only low tech way I have seen I found from a german site I believe, and it was mentioned that this contraption was not too uncommon there.
For me, if I am making neutral vodka, it will be a bunch of batches all the same amount, so I am thinking it could be automated.
Run one round and do cuts, measure what you want to throw away and add a little extra for good measure.
I do understand this is not for everyone, as it will only work if you are doing the same batches over and over and is fairly certain that nothing in the equation changes.
I made a design I think might work, made for putting on directly after a shotgun condenser, but could be adapted:
Spirits come in from the top, through the T-piece (or just a small straight piece with a hose barb) fills the tube, pushing a SS cylinder to the top until it blocks the hole. Might throw on a slice of PTFE on top of the cylinder to make it seal better. Tri clamp in the bottom to make it expandable. And a drain valve.
The design can be made simple or more advanced. I was thinking adding a silicone tube to the exterior to have a visual on the liquid levels.
Do you guys think it will work?
Have you seen other designs?
