Hello,
Recently had a dumb family member who has it out for me let the water softening guy into the garage where my keg still was... He went off about how it's illegal and will blow up the house and insurance won't pay. She (my cousin) proceeded to wreck my coil and tell my grandfather I've gotta get rid of it. Now a bunch of people are on my case about this, I've cleaned it all up.
Looking to move back to basics for a while... Got a 5 Gallon stainless pot and an induction stovetop cooker. This induction stove top works in 10 degree increments (which I'm not sure is so great considering the narrow range of temperatures we've gotta maintain). Anyone have experience using an induction cook pad? Here's the unit.

May not work with all SS pots. They have to be the right combo of steel.

Yes it's a pot specifically for induction cook tops, my only thing is the temperature variance... I suppose if I drill a hole in the lid for a thermometer, like I used to have when I used an electric stove in my apartment before I got busted, I could just charge the wash til the thermometer says 178 F, then put it down to a lower setting, that's basically what I did with electric 1-10 stove dial, charge at 6 or 7 then turn down to just below 1 to pull the run through... If it's sealed up with flour putty, and the temperature increases as liquid turns to vapor and leaves the boiler, I think it should work, anyone try this ever? I'm using the search function, find nothing, checked youtube, find nothing.

Induction Heating
My first few runs were with a simple ss pot and 3/4 copper pipe coming out the lid into a 1/2 copper worm. My heat source was my 3500w induction cooker for beer brewing. The induction cooktop will cycle to maintain the desired temp. It will work, but your distillate will surge out (about every other cycle mine would shoot out a strea). When ran at highest setting it never shuts off.
Sorry to hear about your stuff getting wrecked and people on your case.

Not all induction cooktops cycle at lower (or any) temps. The Electrolux ICONs do not, but they aren't portable. Induction is the way to go though, if you can find the right cooktop.
If you can't drink it, BURN IT!

Cornmeal kid I use one of these to cook on. It was a gift, an amazing one at that! Set it at 190 and go for it. They don't cycle like a normal cooktop, and they will heat up a lot faster.
