I think it might be considered more of a folk song. It was written sometime around the late 19rh century.

Loving the post shiners. Thanks for helping set the Mardi Gras mood. PS my batch of AG Corn/brown Rice/ Barley is waiting on the moonshine hours tonight. (I can smell the fumes now)
