Heres an off topic thought
Dont you just hate the wait for your mix to finish fermenting?? I have 3 different batches going at the moment, different recipes in each, all with
staggered starting dates. But its the waiting that kills me. One batch is just a few days from being done, but I was hoping to distill today on my
day off. But NO, it always waits for the days I am working. Then I have to wait for my next day off. Be glad when I retire. Well thats all.

Patience is one of the necessary virtues to successful distillation. Without it you are crowding the quality!

Always have something fermenting and you will never have to wait!
I make 20-26 gallon ferments...there is always something around to still.

There are to many things worth doing to get fixated on just one thing. There no need to be waiting while you are waiting.
However, it is good to have a finished ferment from a month ago just laying around in case you have to scratch an itch and git away from the misses. I've got 30 gallons of SF wash over a month old sitting in the pump house. It might be another month before I get to dicking around with it.

I couldn't agree more bear river. I have a birdwatchers, sitting around, attracting fruit fly's, waiting for me to have the time to run it. At one point this winter I had three 55 gallon drums brewing.. Two of them were slow moving apple ferments that took months to finish, the third was an all grain that went off like fireworks.
Moral of the story, if you can't distill when you want, start another ferment. Next week you will have plenty to run.

There is no such thing as a stupid question....... Unless you didn't research it first.

Same here I've got a sugar head piggy backed on a 3 grain in my garage fridge gonna run that tomorrow I think , as stated save something for another day then you aren't waiting for it it's waiting for you. Here's another gem from my guru, freeze some backset a few gallons defrost add feints cleanup run ready to go any time. Patience is a virtue patients are for doctors. Good luck slow down and enjoy the ride.

Well I don't have a cupboard, use to have them fermenting on the kitchen table, but the wife, kindly asked if I could find another place to keep them. So
I moved them out to our green room, where we keep our plants for winter. Our several types of hot peppers, tomatoes, and herb's. So I pushed all her
plants onto one of the shelves, and set my buckets fermenting out there. Don't have 36 gallons going, but added all up, it's around 18 gallons or so.
Different mixes in them. With the grow lights it stays a constant 80 to 85 degrees, all winter long.
