I just finished my first brandy. I wrote a few threads about it that can be found.
Anyway, I aged it in oak barrel for about a month, and it turned out really nice.
I kept the high proof (58% abv) from the barrel in glass bottles, and I am diluting it to about 40%-45% (depends who drinks
I noticed that I have strange particles in the bottle. actually, I have it also in the 58% bottles, but very very few, if at all.
What happens is very strange: I pour from the 58% bottle to a clean bottle, and it looks crystal clear. I than water it to, say, 40%, and after some time (few hours at most) it becomes cloudy, and than after about a day, it becomes crystal clear again, but with those parcels in the bottom.
Those particles don't look so good, and the picture with the flash makes it even worse...
Another fact is, that this did not happen at all with the not-aged drink, so, I guess it something with the barrel.
Any idea what is it ? what should I do with this, except filtering it out ?
This doesn't have any effect on the fast, though.
Thanks,
Udi
Here it is when the bottle is stirred:
